How Do I Start Writing An Entry?
HOW DO I START WRITING AN ENTRY?

How do you start writing an entry? What do you say? What do you want to say? Remember this journal is for you to use in whatever way you want. So, what do you want to say to yourself as your first entry? Do you want to say “hello”? Do you want to talk about why you are starting to journal? Do you want to talk about some other topic? Sometimes when I start a new blank book. I just write a quick “hello” to myself and then sign it. I also add a date, time and location, because I’m often mobile when I use my journal.
At other times I want to write a full entry, which could be a least a page or two long. It all depends upon my current reason for journaling. That changes from entry to entry, so I can’t predict what I will want to write about at any given time. Another recommendation that I can give you is to take a few minutes to sit quietly, wait to see if a topic comes to mind, then start writing about the topic. Start by writing a one-word title at the top of the page, and then write from there. It doesn’t matter how much you write, just practice writing and stop when you feel like you are finished. You can always write more than one entry at one sitting, but if you are just beginning, just write one entry for now. There, now that you’ve done that, you’ve taken your first step toward becoming a regular journaler.
Please remember to share your first writing experiences with our readers so that we can learn from and congratulate you on your progress.
